Well, I don’t hate them. I dislike them. There are several reasons and I’ll just tell you the main one haha. So, you know this whole rating girls thing? I just deeply despise it. I just think that you shouldn’t rate the people who defend you, buy your stuff and overall love you. To me, it’s degrading and people who are fans actually told me about how insecure it made them and how they wanted to starve themselves because of that. And the rating table is just a joke. Like, 1 is you’re really lovely, 2 is you’re the loveliest girl ever, 4 is you don’t offend the eyes and 5 is you’ve a great personality. This is just ridicolous ( especially considering you can’t see people’s personality by their looks and that you don’t offend the eyes is higher ranked than you’re lovely). I don’t know this is probably the main reason. I don’t think the “Oh but they’re boys” argument is valid in this case. Yes, they may be boys but if you go around sining about how a girl in sweatpants whatsoever is beautiful and then put something else into practise.. I don’t know, I just hate this. My little sister is a huge 1d fan, and she has a 1d fanblog on tumblr and stuff, and she even told me that she was scared about what they’d rate her. Seriously? Finally meeting your idol shouldn’t be about that. I understand people who like them though but I just… don’t. I hope my point comes across :s?

As much as I totally disrespect this lady, this is low. Fans having a banter about Haroline and magazines publishing insults masked as stupid jokes is totally different. This magazine needs to get itself in order because they’re working adults and have to realize that this is not okay.
The thing is though that this magazine is publishing what they think their readers want to see. So, as bad as they are, they’re just trying to please their market. So, technically this article reflects the fandom or at least, how teeny bop publishers perceive the fandom. They wouldn’t publish this if they didn’t think their readers would enjoy it. It’s called marketing at a target audience.
